Asset Inventory

Asset Inventory enables organizations to discover and inventory all their assets in the cloud environment and categorize them using tags and custom attributes, which allows for better tracking that can be accessed within the project view by selecting the Explorer tab from the right panel.

Benefits of the Asset Inventory:

  • Asset Inventory discovers all assets in the cloud environment and inventories them showing the collective cost for each resource. These assets include virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, and more. The feature automatically collects information about each asset, such as the asset type, location, and usage. This information is used to generate a comprehensive asset inventory report, which is useful for cloud cost management and optimization.

  • Additionally, it allows organizations to use tags and custom attributes to organize and categorize assets. Tags are labels that can be attached to assets to identify them based on specific criteria, such as department, project, or cost center. Custom attributes, on the other hand, are user-defined fields that can be used to store additional information about an asset, such as the asset owner or the expected lifespan of the asset.

Unit Costs

Unit Costs provides users with detailed insights into their cloud spending by allowing them to see the costs of each individual cloud resource and categorize them by type and subcategory. With increased visibility and improved cost management, users can identify areas where they can optimize their cloud spending and reduce costs. By making informed decisions about cloud spending, users can effectively manage their cloud resources and achieve their business goals.

The two most important Unit Costs, BigQuery Cost Breakdown, and Kubernetes Cost Breakdown allow users to gain deep insights into their cloud spending, optimize their resources, and reduce costs.

  • The BigQuery Cost Breakdown allows users to view key BigQuery metrics such as top queries, datasets, and tables on a customizable time basis. This feature enables users to gain deep insights into their BigQuery costs and identify areas where they can optimize their cloud spending. With the ability to customize views and analyze data at a granular level, users can effectively manage their BigQuery resources and reduce costs.

  • The Kubernetes Cost Breakdown helps users to dive deep into their Kubernetes costs and optimize their cloud spending with granular insights. With customizable views of cluster, namespace, and label costs, users can identify areas where they can optimize their Kubernetes resources and reduce costs.
